Profile

Pei Yee obtained her Juris Doctor from the Singapore Management University’s Yong Pung How School of Law and was called to the Singapore Bar in August 2023. She trained and practised at boutique law firms where she had the opportunity to closely observe and learn from senior legal practitioners at work in a variety of practice areas.

In her short time in practice, Pei Yee has assisted in civil trials, including proceedings for assessment of damages, as well as generally in civil litigation involving contractual disputes, tortious claims and proceedings in other jurisdictions, arbitration matters, and criminal defence. She understands that the devil is in the details but keeps the big picture in mind. A highlight and illuminating experience would be appearing before the Court of Appeal during which parties addressed the Court on whether a claimant is entitled to plead a claim for damages for both wrongful gain and wrongful loss in a claim for breach of confidence (see Priscilla Lim Suk Ling and another v Amber Compounding Pharmacy Pte Ltd and another [2024] SGCA 16).

Prior to the practice of law, Pei Yee built a meaningful career as an officer of the Public Service. She is alive to the importance of human experience and interaction and is therefore committed to always acting with empathy and objectivity.

Outside of work, Pei Yee enjoys spending time with her young family and keeping up with her various interests which includes reading and keeping tabs on rugby union.
