Palaniappan brings more than 35 years of litigation experience with him. He started his career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney-General’s Chambers and then joined private practice. His mainstay is civil litigation with special interest in medico-legal cases.
Palaniappan has argued cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and at the Privy Council. His work involves complex areas of the law including complex torts, contracts, trusts and equitable reliefs. He has also acted as counsel in both domestic and international arbitrations. As part of his academic contribution, Palaniappan regularly edits Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore which recently included volumes in the Law of Contract and the Law of Torts as well as the Atkin’s Court Forms.
Palaniappan is married with two daughters. His passions include travelling and reading. He remains committed to extend his hand to members of the society who are less fortunate than him and firmly believes that access to justice is a fundamental right.
